TPS3703: Is TPS3703E4330DSERQ1 an orderable part code?

Part Number: TPS3703
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3702-Q1

I wish to know if TPS3703E4330DSERQ1 is an orderable part code. Section 5 of the datasheet suggests to contact either TI sales representative or use this forum to get details and availability of other options not mentioned in Table 12-1.

Above part was selected because I needed a under-voltage monitor for 3.3V ± 3% power supply. The under-voltage needed threshold levels at ±4% and accuracy of ±0.7% or better.

  • Hi Abhishek,

The TPS3703E4330DSERQ1 has not been released however I will recommend for you to consider the TPS3840DL31DBVRQ1 as another alternative for UV monitoring.

With the accuracy considered (+/-1.5%), the trip point will be somewhere between 3.05V to 3.146V which is fairly close to your requirement of 3.16V.

If you need the trip point to be slightly higher then the TPS3840DL32DBVRQ1 (3.152V to 3.248V) may be a better option. Will this work for you?

    Thanks,

    Isa

  • Hi Isa,

The UV monitor is for a FPGA which requires 3.3V±5%. So the minimum recommended voltage for it is 3.135V.

The 3.3V power supply has tolerance of ±3%. So the minimum supply voltage is 3.201V.

Hence both TPS3840DL31DBVRQ1 and TPS3840DL32DBVRQ1 don't fit my requirement.

Since TPS3703E4330DSERQ1  is not released, does it mean that it is not orderable?

    Regards,

    Abhishek

  • Hi Abhishek,

The TPS3703E4330DSERQ1 is not orderable. I understand that you are looking for a UV monitor with this tolerance but we currently have orderable the TPS3703A4330DSERQ1 device which meets your undervoltage condition of 4% UV threshold with 0.7% accuracy. However this device is also an overvoltage monitor, but also with that 4% OV threshold with 0.7% accuracy meaning it would not interfere with the power supply tolerance. Given these conditions would a window supervisor be acceptable in your application?

    Thanks,
    Joshua

  • Hi Joshua,

No, unfortunately not (especially part like TPS3703A4330DSERQ1 where the OV and UV faults are ORed). The points  at which over-voltage and under-voltage are monitored are different. TPS3702CX33QDDCRQ1 is already used for over-voltage monitoring. Is there a part similar to TPS3702CX33QDDCRQ1 but with accuracy equal to or better than 0.7%?

Also please note that above solution is to replace TPS3701DDCT based monitoring circuit because it was not accurate enough.

    Regards,

    Abhishek

  • Hi Abhishek,

Unfortunately there are no currently released similar higher accuracy TPS3702-Q1 type devices. The last option for UV would be to go with a device like TPS3703E4080DSERQ1 and use high accuracy resistors to set the adjustable threshold. For OV conditions you could use the TPS3870J4330DSERQ1.

    Thanks,
    Joshua
