LM66100: Oring power suppply and battery, RPP and RCB (LM66100 or LM66200)

Part Number: LM66100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM66200

Hi,

I'm trying to use two LM66100 or a LM66200 for Oring a 5vdc power supply and a non rechargeable 3.6V Li-SOCl2 battery(only used when 5Vdc isn't available).

I also need to have a reverse polarity protection on the two inputs and a reverse current blocking functionality mainly for protect the battery.

1-If I'm not wrong, the LM66200 don't have the reverse polarity protection funtionality.
Can you suggest me a easy way to have RPP with a LM66200?

2-Can you confirm me this schematic is good for all my needs(Oring, RPP and RCB):

Thanks!

  • Hi Julien,

    2. I'd put a resistor in between VIN2 and CE1 as well to prevent large currents into CE if the battery is put in backwards. Other than that, it should be fine.

    1. To get RPP on LM66200, you could try putting a diode between GND pin and system ground, pointing towards system ground. But please try testing that before designing it in, as the device isn't characterized for this.

    Thanks,

    Patrick
