TL1431-SP: Total Accuracy

If designing for worst case, is the total accuracy of the part just the stated Vi(ref) = 2.46V - 2.55V in section 6 of the datasheet? There are no other thermal accuracies to account for since my thermal environment is enveloped by the qualification thermal range, correct?

Also, the SMD for this part state Vi(ref) = 2.46V - 2.54V. Is the TI datasheet or SMD correct?

Hi Kyle,

The V_I(ref)spec in the datasheet indicates the accuracy of the device feedback reference voltage.

This is also total device accuracy when at unity gain (V_KA=V_REF).

If V_KA is set to a higher voltage, the TL1431-SP is susceptible to other errors that may effect the overall accuracy beyond VREF. Section 9.2.4 "Total Accuracy" of the device datasheet states the following sources of error.

Hi Kyle,

In addition to Andy's comments, I will add that the SMD limits match the limits we test against so those should be considered correct. I have noted the discrepancy for the next datasheet revision.
