TPS7H1101A-SP: Line/Load Regulation

Part Number: TPS7H1101A-SP

Hello,

What is the difference between line/load regulation and DC line/load regulation in the datasheet?

Thank you,

Fernando

  • Hi Fernando,

The top 2 line/load regulation specs cover the full temperature range (-55C to 125C) and operating conditions. The bottom line regulation spec is broken out by temperature, and the bottom load regulation spec is broken out by temperature and by different VOUT and load conditions. This allows users to see both the widest possible variation across all conditions as well as a narrower amount of variation that is more realistic for their specific operating conditions.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  • Hi Sarah,

    Thank you very much.

A have a follow up question. Are the line and load regulation specifications in the datasheet steady-state parameters? If so, I would need to either test the hardware with my load application via simulation or in the lab to get and idea of transient line/load response?

    Thank you,

    Fernando

  • Hey Fernando,

No problem! Yes, these specs are steady-state. As you correctly noted, analyzing the response to either type of transient would require evaluation on bench and/or with simulation.

    Thanks,

    Sarah
