TPSM8D6C24: Question about setting for Fusion Digital Power Designer

Guru 19555 points
Part Number: TPSM8D6C24
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS546D24A

Customers are verifying the TPSM8D6C24 configuration with Fusion Digital Power Designer.

(Substituted with TPS546D24A)

As configure the settings, the Compensation part will change to the same value as expected, but the Bytes part will not be reflected in the settings and will remain fixed.

And Pin Strapping also seems to reflect this fixed value and does not change.

Does this mean that the compensation is automatically determined by the gain setting?

(= Is there no other way to adjust the Compensation value?)

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi

    1) if FUSION not updating some of the sub-settings in the display when the command code is updated, or not updating the HEX value when the sub-settings are changed. If that is the issue, you should be able to get the update by using the DEVICE -> Refresh All Parameters option from the drop-down menus at the top.

    2) The device will not update the COMPENSATION settings if you make changes while the output is enabled. The command can be written to, and the value stored to NVM, but the changes will not affect performance. If you are testing the transient performance, you should disable VOUT before making changes to COMPENSATION_CONFIG.

    3) if you want the updated COMPENSATION settings to be retained across power-ons, you need to update PIN_DETECT_OVERRIDE for COMPENSTION_CONFIG (and others if needed) and store the changes to NVM.

    Thank you
