TPS6594-Q1: TPS6594-Q1: PMIC WD register address

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1

Hello experts,

I'm currently working with the PMIC TPS6594-Q1. I've encountered a situation where I need to read or write to 10 watchdog registers using I2C. However, I've noticed that only the lower bits of the address are being passed during these operations.

For example, the address of the WD_ANSWER_REG is 0x401, but when attempting to read this register, the address passed is 0x1 instead of 0x401.

I've searched through the Technical Reference Manual (TRM) but couldn't find any relevant information explaining this behavior.

Could you please help me understand the reason behind this?

Kind Regards
Thank You

  • Hello Manisha,

Is there a specific part number associated with this question?

As this device is offered in either SPI or I2C configuration.

Either way the convention of the register map is as follows 0x401, where Page 4 from 0x4__ and denotes register address 0x01 from 0x_01

Could you give a some more information regarding how you're obtaining these reads?

    BR,

    Nicholas
