I am interested in using the TPS64202 step down controller in one of my designs to buck a 3.3 - 4.0 Li-Ion Battery down to 3.2V at low loads. The datasheet for this part specifies that the output capacitor used should be a low ESR tantalum capacitor. Unfortunately, our customer for this project will not allow us the use of tantalum capacitors in our designs. Could any type of ceramic capacitor, such as an X7R, be substituted for the output capacitor and still yield good results?
