ISO5852S: A problem in ISO5852S (does not have output)

Part Number: ISO5852S

I used ISO5852S in my design to drive SiC. I am applying the PWM pulse to pin IN+ and IN+ (PIN 10 and 11).

I have also applied 2.5-5 V to Vcc1 and GND1 (15 and 9). Also, I am using +15 ; 0 ; -8 (VCC2 ; GND2 ; VEE2).

I am measuring the output voltage of gate driver between (OUTL and OUTH). I cannot see any output.

Can you please help me with this?

  • Hi Mohammad,

Thank you for reaching out to E2E.

Have you probed the RDY and FLT pins?

    • You would know the driver is ready to operate if both of these pins are HIGH.
      • If RDY is LOW then something could be wrong with the power supplies (UVLO)
      • If FLT is LOW it could be that without a MOSFET connected the cathode of the DESAT diode is floating in which case it will not conduct leading the DESAT pin voltage to reach the DESAT threshold which would shutdown the gate driver until the driver is power cycled or a RST signal is sent to the RST pin. Without a MOSFET connected this would continue happening every time the output tries to toggle HIGH. You would need to connect this cathode to the source connection or COM pin of the gate driver.

    Best regards,
