We are presently engaged in the development of an Isolated DC to DC Converter with the following specifications:
Input voltage: 16V DC to 120V DC
Output Voltage: 13.8V
Output Power: 600W
To meet this requirement, we are referencing the LM5036 reference design: PMP40500.
We need to adapt this for a 120V operating range. Could you please suggest a suitable additional circuit for this purpose?

Yes, you can design a half bridge converter with 16V<VIN<120V and 13.8V Vout. You need to design the output inductor, transformer, main switches and other components with your input and output specifications. I recommend using the Design Calculator Design tool here for Component Selection. You just need to input your input and output specs in the yellow cells.

One more important thing to note is that the internal startup JFET is only rated for 100V. You can still use LM5036 in applications where VIN>100V but you will not be able to take advantage of the internal startup feature. See details in section 8.2.2.4 in the LM5036 data sheet:

The absolute maximum voltage from 'SW' to 'GND' is 105V (Refer to section 6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings in the datasheet). Since the half-bridge switch is directly connected to 'Vin', the 120V directly reaches the 'SW' pin when the high-side switch is ON. Please advise me on how to overcome this issue.
