BQ76905EVM: Buck enable function in BQ76905EVM

Part Number: BQ76905EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76905, TIDA-010268

Tool/software:

Hello Expert ,

I have gone through below block diagram of BQ76905 in TIDA-010268 document

In this BQ76905 IC generate Buck enable signal to switch on power supply to MCU.  I assume this will be used for low power consumption , but  not able to trace this in the detailed schematic .

Can you please help me how buck enable signal is generated from BQ76905 ?

thanks

  • Hello Vasu,

I actually do not see where this is done on the schematic! Seems the BUCK_EN is coming off-board from the MSPM0 launchpad. The design guide just mentions that BUCK_EN needs to be set high to turn-on the buck converter.

However, I believe the idea of the block diagram would be that REGOUT of the BQ76905 can be used as a BUCK_EN signal to the buck converter. The buck converter only requires a positive signal on its enable pin to power it up.
