I'm looking for a DCP support IC similar to TPS2561A but it should support 5V/3A power negotiation

Please suggest me a part

    Hi Preetham,

    A DCP handshake only tells the sink device that 1.5 A is available.  It's not possible to handshake to 3.0 A, per the BC1.2 spec.  Can you please clarify your request if I am misunderstanding?

    I want to transfer 5V/3A over USB type A. So I need a an IC which can handle this power negotiation for type A connector

    Hi Preetham,

    If you need the handshake logic integrated to the power switch, please consider TPS2547 or TPS2549.  If you already have the handshake logic implemented elsewhere in your system, please consider TPS2556/2557 or TPS2559.

    The USB specification is limited to 1.5 A for a Type-A connector.  There are proprietary handshakes that will result in larger current draw.  The largest one that is supported by TI is 2.7 V/Divider-3 mode, which is 2.4 A.
