TPS6594-Q1: What is difference between UV and UVLO

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi TI experts

We are using SoC TDA4VM-Q1 and PDN power soultion(TPS65941213, TPS65941111)

I have several questions about TPS65941213RWERQ1 PMIC.

1. What is difference between VCCA_UV and VCCA_UVLO

2. When VCCA_UV & VCCA_UVLO occur in PMIC

  • Hello Jaeyong,

VCCA_UV is a configurable threshold controlled by the VCCA_VMON_EN bit and VCCA_PG_WINDOW register. For PDN-0C ('1213 +'1111), VCCA_UV is -10% from 3.3V VCCA set point. In other words, VCCA_UV threshold is ~2.97V. If VCCA_UV is triggered, the PMICs will execute an Orderly Shutdown sequence and then make a recovery attempt.

VCCA_UVLO is NOT configurable and is always enabled. VCCA_UVLO falling threshold is ~2.75V. If VCCA falls below UVLO, the PMICs will execute an Immediate Shutdown sequence and then make a recovery attempt.
