BQ25798: Using a USB Type-C 1.2 charger (5V@3A) without a PD controller

Hello,

I'd like to build a system to use an USB Type-C 1.2 charger (5V@3A). This charger can identfy a BC 1.2 charger (5V@1.5A).

What will happen if I plug Type-C 1.2 without a PD controller? BQ25798 is capable of delivery 15W withou this PD controller?

    Hi Lucas,

    If you are going to set it at 5V@3A without negotiation (if negotiation is needed, then a PD controller is needed), it is possible to plug USB Type-C with the appropriate connections. BQ25798 is capable of delivering 15W without the PD controller.
