TPS1H200A-Q1: Input Power drop occurs when using 4 products at the same time.

Part Number: TPS1H200A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello.

Input power drop occurs when four TPS1H200A-Q1 products are turned on simultaneously.

Changing from four to two TPS1H200A-Q14 reduces the input voltage drop.

I would like to ask why the voltage drop occurs and what method should I use to improve it.

Attached is the measured waveform and circuit configuration.

TPS1H200A-Q1 4EA ON Oscilloscope waveforms

TPS1H200A-Q1 2EA ON oscilloscope waveform

The circuit configuration was configured like a data sheet.

  • Junho,

Are you turning on a relay or contact driver? That small glitch almost seems like typical stall current associated with the relay.

Do you have a shot of the current or fault pin? The other possibility here is that the device is being turned on into a large capacitance, the current limit engages to charge the capacitor, the device goes into thermal fault and turns off, then turns on and continues to charge the capacitor after the device cools off a bit.

    Best Regards,
