BQ34Z100-R2: SOC is jittery and dips with high loads

Tool/software:

Good day team,

We have been monitoring our system, which has a motor drive load that drains a few amps at a time for a few seconds and stops. The process happens repeatedly over the day and causes the gauge to skew SOC indication significantly over time, till the max SOC settles somewhere much lower than 100%, say 80%, 85, or even 70% in one of the systems. It does not climb back to 100% unless very briefly then falls back down again.

Pack Configuration C has RELAX_JUMP_OK, RELAX_SMOOTH_OK, and SMOOTH bits are "1" already.

Below is a capture of our data collected over a week. SOC is in red.

Here is a zoomed version where SOC dips from 100% down to 71%.

I believe I am not alone in this and would really appreciate some advice as to why this is happening and what remedies you would suggest.

Regards,

Ali
