Dear TI community
We want to design a power converter of 600W. My input and output specification are 230VAC and 60VDC at 10A. please suggest the topology and control ic.
Is there any possible for using the flyback control ic UC3842 for this specification?
600W is too much power for a single-ended power topology. I recommend:

Thanks Steven Mappus1 for sharing your valuable inputs. We want to use the dual siwtch flyback for our specification please find the block diagram attached for your reference. Please suggest your inputs regarding this
2-switch only divides the primary voltage between 2 switches vs 1. This may distribute the primary switching loss between 2 MOSFETs but you still are using only Q1 of the flyback transformer and you still have too much power (my opinion) to process on the secondary side for the flyback topology...but if you can deal with the output rectifier thermal/heat and the huge amount of RMS AC ripple current dumping into your output capacitors then you will achieve your goal.
A double-ended bridge topology that uses an output LC filter (buck derived isolated topology) would be my choice. Your design specs seem good for a PSFB topology.

Dear chandrasekaran,
Typically Single switch flyback used upto 120W Power level, and 2 switch flyback used 100W to 200W power level.
Beyond this power Level Magnetizing inductance & Leakage Inductance plays a role. Since Flyback Transformer is Coupled Inductor, Energy stored in Inductor is 0.5Lm*Im^2 & time constant is constraint factor, thats why it is not recommended for higher Power level. you can try solving this problem by Innovative design in Magnetics one problem solved. then you may use UC3842 IC with capable of handling good thermal design & snubber circuit at secondary side
Hope its clear
Thank you
