BQ25505: Power harvesting chip with small package size

Hi,

I am looking for a PMIC similar to BQ25505 that can be used for power harvesting from a solar cell and storing energy into a battery. I need the device to have a small package size such as WL-CSP.

Does TI has such a part?

Please let me know.

Hi Kaveh,

The TI battery charger team does not have a CSP based solar-powered battery charger. We do have the predecessor to BQ25505, BQ25504, which is in 3mmx3mm QFN if that helps.

I think you should consider implementing these dies into wafer level packages.

well, independent from the application, I guess the future of packaging is going toward wafer level packages, which are smaller, thinner and have better temperature profile.

Hi Kaveh,

For some applications that is true but most of our mass market customers do not want CSP packages due to their fragility and very small pin/ball pitches.
