LM5155: Changing modes

Part Number: LM5155

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I hope you can help with a SEPIC converter issue.

My customer is trying to analyze an existing SEPIC converter design that has three simultaneous operating conditions:  peak current mode control, coupled inductor, discontinuous conduction mode.  They are trying to calculate the control loop parameters:  gain, poles and zeros, stability.  They can find no scholarly articles that address all three of their conditions together.  Does TI have such a reference - can you please share?

They tried using SEPIC LM5155_56 Excel quickstart calculator (SNVR481).  It seems hopeful, but there is a field in “Step 2: Filter Inductor” that allows switch from continuous conduction mode to discontinuous conduction mode that seems stuck in continuous mode.  How can they change modes?

Regards,

Obinna.
