Tool/software:
How can I use an LM5000 in a fully galvanically isolated configuration? The datasheet application diagram for a flyback converter uses a shared ground for the input and output, violating galvanic isolation. Do you have an app note showing how to use it in an isolated configuration?
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for using the e2e forum.
We have several reference designs in our TI library that show examples for Flybacks with galvanic isolation.
I did not find a reference that uses LM5000 directly, however, there are some designs with the successor device family LM515x.
This EVM shows LM5155 in isolated Flyback topology:

LM5155 uses an external switching FET, but the power stage design would be the same.
The direct successor device for LM5000 would be LM5157. If the device selection is not final yet, I would recommend to use the LM5157 device instead, as it is more modern and comes with improved features and better pricing.
Best regards,
Niklas
