TPS552882: Review Support

Part Number: TPS552882

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

Customer used TPS552882 for an access control system with condition 11~14Vin to 12Vo/7.5A. Would you please support to review the schematic?

Thanks,

Allan

  • Hi Allan,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    1. Add a 0402 0.1uF cap in Vin NET and put it close to Buck-side loop.

2.Vmiller of the MOSFET are over 4V, which is too close to VCC voltage. There is risk that MOSFETs are not fully turned on. Recommend to change  a MOSFET. 150V VDS rated voltage is too large.

3.Voltage range of C107 and C114 is too large. 50V is enough.

4.Recommend to change R251 to 49.9k. Use 4.7uH inductor. 16V Isat is enough.

5.Recommend to add a 0.1iuF 0402 cap in Vout side and put it close to IC. One 330uF cap is enough. Recommend to delete CE5. Can you provide part number of C54-C58 and CE4 for loop calculation?

6.R250 should be larger than 20kohm.

7.Recommend to change R249 to 28.7kohm to set 11.5A average current limit.

    8.Follow layout guideline.TPS55288 Layout Guideline.pdf
