What happens to BQ34Z100-G1 if a small system load below the deadband continues to flow?

Is it possible to calculate and update SoC etc?

If it is not possible to update, if it is left for a long period of time such as a few days and the battery capacity is low, when will the SoC be updated?

Hi all,

How is the progress?

My customer's application standby/load current is about 1.2 mA.

I think it is unable to detect a current value of 1.2 mA even with a deadband of 1.

I would appreciate any comments.

Could you give me an answer by next Monday?

Hi,

If BQstudio is reporting a discharge current, it will have an effect on SOC. If the current is less than the deadband and BQstudio reports 0mA, then it will not affect SOC.

My name is Nishie and I work with Ryusuke.

1. I set Deadband=1, Dsg Current Threshold=1, and performed a discharge test at 1.2mA, and Bqstudio displayed 0mA. Based on this, is it correct to understand that the IC cannot detect 1.2mA?

I thought that I could detect the consumption current (1.2mA) by changing the value of sense resistance, but I would like to know the resolution of the BQ34Z100 to calculate sense resistance.

2. Is it correct to assume that the resolution is 1LSB=4.768uV?

Hi Diego-san,

When the EVM was equipped with a sense resistor of 4mΩ, at 2mA Bqstudio reported current.

When the EVM was equipped with a sense resistor of 10 mΩ, at 1mA Bqstudio reported current.

When the maximum current value is 25A and the minimum current value is 1.27mA, is it correct to understand that the minimum sense resistance value is 5mΩ? I have referred to the material in the following thread.
