TPS610333: Output disconnect and Frequency in Auto PFM mode

Part Number: TPS610333

Tool/software:

Hi,

Could you please clarify the following questions?

  1. Does the TPS610333 switcher fully disconnect the output when disabled, or does the input voltage pass through the body diode of the P-Channel FET?

  2. At what frequency does the converter switch when operating in Auto PFM mode? From the datasheet, I understand it is variable, but is there a nominal value?

My design requirement is: Output current ranging from 0.5A to 1A max with an input voltage of 3.3V.

Best Regards,

Naveen

  • Hi Naveen,

    Lei will reply tomorrow. Thanks.

  • Hi Naveen,

The TPS610333 has true disconnection between input and output during shutdown.

The overall frequency at PFM mode is heavily depends on the load, there is not a nominal frequency. As my calculation, when Vin = 3.3V and Vout = 5V, and Iout >= 0.5A, the TPS610333 won't enter the PFM mode.

    Regards

    Lei
