TPS75101 VS TPS74801

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS74801, TPS751

Hi All,

Does anyone knows the difference between parts  TPS75101 VS TPS74801 ?

(i.e interns of  performance & power dissipation)

Thanks & regards,

Pai

  • Hi,

The dropout voltage will be lower for the TPS74801 and so it will potentially be more efficient.  But note that the TPS74801 typically requires an additional Bias voltage to achieve its exceedingly low dropout voltage. Note too that the TPS751 will not typically be stable when using ceramic output capacitors, but will require a certain amount of Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) built into the Cout inorder for the LDO control loop to be stable (it will likely need a tantalum Cout).
