TPS54120 Output noise

How does connecting an LDO at the output of the switcher lower the noise?

You still have switching noise. How does the LDO eliminate this.

Just the switcher itself has a noise of about 3mVp-p. What application would need lower noise?

See the video at the bottom of the page for the noise values- http://www.ti.com/product/tps62140

  • Hi Hithesh,

We are trying to reduce noise in general, while at the same time to reduce the fundamental switching signal, and the harmonics of the switching signal down to a good deal less than 0.1uV/root-hz  across the 100Hz-10MHz.

    Regards

    Bill

Bill, how exactly is the noise reduced?
