BQ2002G : Maximum allowed sink current at CC pin?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2002G

Hi,

I am using BQ2002G in our application for NI-CD battery charging. And i have following queries regarding the same,

1) Could you please tell me what is the Maximum allowed sink current at the CC Pin (i.e, for CC sink)?

2) And if the sink current rate crosses more than 100mA or At what current rate, would the charging system needs ground pad for heat dissipation? Please Suggest.

  • In the data sheet it has a maximum of 500uA, with a 5V input.

I do not have anymore information available to me, so I would check and load it with a 5k resistor to 5V and  see how much current it pulls. If it is >600uA then I think the spec means one can expect 500uA maximum loading into the IC.
