Can I change the UCC38C42 (original from Fuji FA13842) to UC3842?

    Imre,

    The two parts perform the same function however they are not pin for pin compatible. For instance the startup current for the UC3842 can be up to 1 ma while the UCC38c42 is a high of 0.1ma. So a circuit that is designed to start with a 0.1ma current will not necessarily start a UC2842.

    You will have to go through each line in each spec and see the differences.
