How do I operate a momentary 500mA current using PWM and TPS61150A

I wish to use the TPS 61150A device in order to drive a LED chain.

I wish to use PWM and achieve 500mA current

  • Hi enbar vodevoz,

I think what you want to know is the dimming function of this device. There're three ways for dimming. If you want to use the PWM dimming, you can apply a PWM signal to SEL pin.

The average output current will be modulated by the duty cycle of the PWM signal you applied. For example, if the nominal output current you set is Iout, then after dimming with PWM signla, the output current will be Iout*D. ( D is the duty cycle of the PWM signal)

I can't help more with your limited imformation, so if you want the detailed design, you need to show me the details.

  • Hi

    here is the detailed design

I want a momentary 500mA current to each LEDs branch

the DIm signal is my PWM and it is connected either to the sel inputs or the iset inputs

  • Hi ,

I have checked your schematic, your LED load current seems too heavy, have you noticed that there's a maximum load limitation illustrated in page 5 of datasheet. Current sink max. output current is 34 mA.
