Start up time specification for REG1117-3.3 LDO

Hi Anoop,

As this is an older device (20+ years) we typically do not have the data on hand or easily available. Have you taken a look at TLV1117LV? It has the same footprint with a turn-on time of 100us (typ.). 

Is there any reason in particular that start-up time is a concern?

Actually I had already used this LDO in a project of mine, and I was considering an option to detect power up of this LDO to 3.3V output by sensing it using an FPGA, which triggers a set of operations by the FPGA. If the power up time is lesser than of 500us it should me okay for my application I believe. else it may be unsuitable. Also, I had asked if there might be some overshoot because, the LDO output is connected to an FPGA pin, and it may not be desirable to exceed 3.3V in that case as the FPGA could be affected

Hey Anoop,

Given that there's no mention of a prolonged start-up time, I'm led to believe that it has a start-up less than 500us. However, I can't guarantee this from the datasheet, so I'd need to look at it on the bench. Let me know if this is necessary.
