USB to GPIO EVM, Windows 7 64-bit

USB-to-GPIO shows up as HID device within Windows and doesn't require any additional driver, at least as far as I know.

Are you having an issue with connecting it?

WinXP 64 or WIN7/WIN8 64?

Ignore the question on windows version, just noticed the title.

Gents, Actually I have the same problem. The adapter installs fine with no error. No extra drivers needed. No yellow question mark in device manager.

When executing the GUI for the USB-to-GPIO adapter it tells in the status line at the bottom of the window that  there is no adapter.

I have Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell E6530 laptop. The .NET framework for Win 7 is 4.5.

Is there a solution? Thanks for help!

I'm running 64-bit WIN7 without issue.

I have a Toshiba but most TIers have Dell E series laptops.

What hardware are you attempting to communicate with and which GUI interface, Fusion Digital Power Designer or something else?

Is the USB Adapter connected through a USB hub/switch, try connecting it directly to the system.

For now I just connected the adapter http://www.ti.com/tool/usb-to-gpio and tried the software downloadable from that page. Unzipping the contents to a folder on desktop (path: \USB Interface Adapter Software\USB Interface Adapter GUI-v1.10\bin\) and executing by doubleclicking USB SAA GUI.exe there.

Got this window. Please note the "Adapter not attached" message at the bottom of the window. As a starting exercise I just wanted to set the pull-up resistors to 2.2k. Doing so by pressing Set lets a popup appear:

Need to mention that I'm connecting the adapter directly to the system with no hub in between. According to Windows (device manager) and also visible by the adapter's green light it is enumerated correctly.

But can't find it in Fusion Digital Power Designer software folder.

Do we need any driver for USB device?
The FUSION DIGITAL POWER DESIGNER has been installed and restart PC.
The SW seen hang up(forever) to looking for USB series adaptor.
It will resum after disconnect USB adaptor.
And hang up again when reconnect USB adaptor.

Please let me know more.

SAA #1: PollPmbusSignalLines: USB/SAA ERROR

After plugging in the USB-to-GPIO adapter, it should show up as a standard HID (Human Interface Device) component in the Device Manager, no additional driver required.

Are you connecting the USB cable directly to the host system or through a USB hub, I've never experienced a problem doing this but I've heard that this could be a problem.

PC can see it(adaptor), but still not work.

I have double check that It can read/ control bq24195EVM.

The adaptor should be function correctly.

Please let me know your comment.

I'm finding some troubles when using "SMBus & I2C & SAA Degub Tool" with my USB Interface Adapter. In my case the application freezes during "Looking for USB Serial Adapter". If try to use the adapter with the BQ2416x EVM software, it works fine.

The firmware version installed is 49.2.2.

Also if i detach the adaptor the  "SMBus & I2C & SAA Degub Tool" opens  with some errors like below:

Can somebody help me with this?
