Hi,

My customer would like to use TPS5420 on the following conditions.

We design it using " Using the TPS5430 As An Inverting Buck Boost Converter (Rev. A) ".

Could you please send that to me if you have a calculation tool of an inductor and capacitor value?

[Conditions]

Vin = 19.5V

Vout = -8.0V

Iout = 0.7A

I do not have a calculation tool for this part. I also recommend using the TPS54340 instead if it's an option for the customer. With current mode control and external compensation it adds flexibility that makes designing an inverting buck-boost much easier. We also have an excel tool for this.

We will suggest TPS54340 (or TPS54240) to our customer.

Could you please send an excel tool?

And, is this usable for TPS54240?

I think that TPS54240 is usable on the following condition.

[Conditions]

Vin = 19.5V

Vout = -8.0V

Iout = 0.7A

The link to the excel tool is below. For some reason it is not on the TPS54240 product page. It supports the entire family of the TPS54x40 so you can choose your device based on the calculations in the tool.
