UCC28070 EVM power on

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28070, UCC28070EVM, UCC25600EVM

Hi,

I am trying to power on the UCC28070 300-W Interleaved PFC EVM. I followed the below steps and i did not get 390V at output. Am i missing anything here? my setup is 230VAC from socket --> UCC28070EVM ---> UCC25600EVM ---> Resistor load (2Ohms/200W).

1. Initially i missed to connect the daughter board in UCC28070 EVM and missed to connect 14V bias and powered on the setup. i got 317V at PFC output.

2. then i connected the daughter board and 14V bias and powered on the setup. Now i am getting 7V at PFC output.

Whether UCC28070 EVM will damage if i power it without daughter board and bias supply?

Regards,

Veera

  • These boards are 100% tested from 85 to 265V RMS before they leave the factory.

It sounds like your board might have gotten damaged.

I believe this design has a bypass diode for inrush so if you are only getting 7V chances are something openned up.  You might have just lost a fuse or an NTC.
