I have the need to convert a 24VDC signal from an encoder to a 5 VDC logic signal. The 5 VDC logic signal with be used provided to a Kollmorgen Drive to control a stepper motor. The encoder has the follow specifications: 10-30 VDC 100mA, A B Outputs. Requirements for the input circuitry are:
- the input circuitry is suitable for 5 V logic (single or differential) 20mA Max.
- minimum On and Off times are both 250ns.
It was mentioned that a UC2573 or UC2874-2 would be a useful IC. Can you tell me if this IC is correct for such an application or is there possible another IC available which makes more sense.
