Step Down Converter with Surge Protection

Hi,

I need a 12VDC to 5VDC 1 Ampere step down converter with surge protection.

Kindly advise if there are devices which fulfil this requirement.

    Hi,
    I have recd more specifications on the step down converter required and they are as given below :-
    Input : 12V- 35V DC
    Output : 5V DC Regulated.
    Current : 5A max
    Protection : Over Current, Over Voltage, Short Circuit & Surge.

    The circuit will be used in Automotive Applications (Cars).

    Please Note: The converter needs to be strictly CISPR 22 Qualified for Conducted & Radiated Emissions

    LM43600 series or LM46000 series might be a good place to start. let me know what you think about those.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the suggestion but output current of LM43600 is much less, we need minimum 3.5 A of current 

    Sir, It would be more helpful if could get the complete DC-DC converter module with specifications mentioned below

    Input            : 12V- 35V DC
    Output         : 5V  DC Regulated.
    Current        : 3.5A min & 5A max 
    Protection   : Over Current, Over Voltage, Short Circuit & Surge.
     
    Want to use this circuit in Automotive Applications (Cars).

    Have you used Webench? It creates and provides simulation for a majority of our power management parts.
