TPS62085 / Reverse voltage condition

Hi everyone,

My customer concern the reverse voltage condition such as input voltage goes down under Vo(set). Then please give your comment for following question.

Is the reverse current happened through body diode of HS FET?
Do you have any concern if the reverse current is happened? 200uF of Cout is assuming.

Yes, it will flow through the high-side FET of course.

How and how much will flow greatly depends on the Vin ramp down rate. Unless this is very fast, I don't think there is an issue.

Generally, as long as the reverse current is below the rating of the IC and the I doesn't get too hot, this is ok. I've never seen an actual issue with this in a system.

Let me ask one more question. Do you think there is concern of latch-up when the reverse current is happened?
