I would like use TPS23861EVM-612 for PDs analysis - voltage and current measurement, information about class and things like that.
This evaluation board offers everything I could need expect one point. In datasheet there is note: "The power furnished is according to alternative A with MDI-X polarity."
However PD that I want to test can operate with either 4,5 (V+) and 7,8 (V-) polarity or 1,2 (V+) and 3,6 (V-) or both simultaneously and I need to test all possibilities. One solution of this is changing cable between PSE and PD but that is not "clean" solution since there is huge space for mistakes during measurement and this is also slow.
The best solution would be change in software or in worst case mechanical switch on PSE board.
Does any of TI's ICs offer changeable polarity of PoE or is this even possible? Thank you for your answer.
