TI BQ25505 and BQ25070 power management

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25070, BQ25505

Hi,

In my power management circuit the BQ25505 Energy harvesting IC is connected through VSOTR to our battery which is also connected to our USB charging IC the BQ25070 through BAT. That way we can charge the battery either with energy harvesting or USB.

The BQ25070 BAT output will not be affected by the BQ25505 charging current since we have a reverse discharge solution but when a USB cable is plugged in the BQ25505 is shutdown through the EN pin and current flows from the USB charger to the battery but could eventually flow in the BQ25505.

Is that something we should be worried about?

By the way VSTOR and VBAT_SEC on the BQ25505 are connected together.

Thanks!

If current float in BQ25505 when in ship mode (/EN high), then you probably do not need to worry since the boost charger is shut down in this mode.
