TPS2034 - CURRENT LIMIT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2034, TPS2000C

Hello,
I have a questions about TPS2034.

SLVS190C describes that CURRENT LIMIT threshold is from 2.2A to 3.8A.
But CURRENT LIMIT acts from 4.4A.

Is this reason the delay of the detection?

If the load rises slowly, does CURRENT LIMIT act from near threshold value?

Regards,
Daisuke

  • The current limit response in this old series of power switches is not optimal. I would suggest looking at the "C" family of power switch. The TPS2000C is a 2A rated part with much better current limit response.

  • Hello Eric,
    Thank you for your reply.

    About TPS2034.

I gradually put up an electric current to 2A~3.8A for approximately one minute, but CURRENT-LIMIT does not work.
CURRENT-LIMIT works afterward when I put up an electric current to 4.35A.

Is it not a delay of the detection?

Please teach me the reason not to detect to 4.35A.
    Is the reason the Ioc?
    Is Ioc 4.35A?

I attach a wave form. (The load rises quickly.)

    Might a thermal protection work?

    Best regards,
