Hi Expert,

How do I define the LP8557 Iout for per channel? Does it Imax/PWM resolution? Thanks!

    Hi Jerry,

    I am not sure if I fully understand the question. You can control LP8557 brightness using either a PWM input and/or programming the brightness register. The mode selection is BRTMODE in register 0x10. The max current can either be set by using a resister or programming the MAXCURR in register 0x10. Please refer to section 8.6 in datasheet for more detail.

    All these controls are for all 6 Channels, there is per channel control on brightness. However, you can turn ON/OFF each channel by programming LEDEN register (0x14). This setting should be done before you turn on the LED.

    Sorry for confuse you. If I am setting the max current is 20mA. How about the min current? Thanks!

    Hi Jerry,

    If you set the max current to 20mA, then the maximum current you are going to get is 20mA when the brightness is at 100%. If the brightness is at 0%, you will get 0mA in current.
