TPS65140 linear regulator

Hi Sir,

Sorry to bother you.

As we can see from datasheet, if my customer don’t need to use linear regulator control (FB4 and BASE), it should be connected with VIN, am I correct? If my customer Vin is 5V, can I connect FB4 and BASE to this 5Vin? May I know the maximum voltage rating of FB4 and BASE pin?

Besides, if we don’t need to use linear regulator control (FB4 and BASE), can we float FB4 and BASE pin?

Thanks for your help and time.

Yours Faithfully

  • Hello Redick Lee,

Thanks for your enquiry. The FB4 pin is internally connected to a current source which is supplied by VIN, so the maximum voltage rating for that pin would be the maximum for VIN (6 V). Same rating applies to BASE - pin.
Besides that the FB4 and BASE Pins are terminated with a 2-kOhm resistor internally, which means that you can as well leave it floating.

    Best Regards,
    Ilona
