several question about Typical Application Schematic at BQ24133 datasheet page1.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24133

Hi,

We're planning to make some kind of G-PON ONT application with battery pack,

and review the bq24133 for battery charger.

As for the typical application schematic at bq24133 datasheet page 1,

1) if the VBAT is 12.6V , can you recommand the minimum input adaptor voltage value to operate stably?

2) For Q1~Q3, L:3.3uH , is there any special specification that TI recommends?

  • 1. AVCC has to higher than VSRN about AVCC to SRN sleep comparator threshold. So, if D1 has 0.6V drop, the minimum input adapter volage is about 13.6V.
    2. The EVM can support 2.5A with a small board temperature raise. Please check BOM in the user's guide, you can find the part number. And then, you can get the component spec from digikey.com.
  • thanks for your quick answer.

I have just one more question.

RT 103AT is mounted inside the battery? or I have to mount at external circuit?

As for the EVM user guide, It seems as a signal output from the battery..

  • RT 103AT is mounted inside the battery to monitor battery cell temperature.

For evaluation, if you don't have that RT, you can put 10kohm resister between TS pin and ground.

  • thanks Wang,

Actually, our battery pack doesn't have that kind of RT function.

So, please let me know whether  “implement the RT 103AT on the PCB near the battery"  is meaningful.

I attach our battery spec for your reference.

    103AT

  • I'm still wait for your recommandation.
Is that meaningful if implement the RT 103AT on the PCB?
  • RT is for monitoring battery temperature. Not for PCB temperature. So, please put a 10kohm general resister to disable the TS function.

  • thanks for your quick and kind answer.
