Dear All,
One of my customer is using TPS54560-Q1 device for Automotive DC-DC Converter applications, they have tested a lamp of 12V / 60W connected as load and the test is carried at room temperature of 30 degree C with the input voltage of 24V DC.
The temp. on the chip measured 130 degree C ( within 15 minutes ) and tripping / flickering it's output. So, they changed PCB layout design suitably by increasing the ground pad area ( under the chip) and planned to provide a heatshink.
With an additional heatshink over the chip in the proto sample it is working well without any issues and the temperature on the chip is observed 80 degree C.
Please also advise if any other precautionary measures/design changes needs to be implemented in-order to get rid of this.
Rgds,
Aravind.
