BQ24232H threshold current to enter sleep mode?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24232H

Hello,

For the BQ24232H, whats the threshold (current) for no load on OUT pin to go into sleep mode? Is that the 6.5uA? I'm trying to find more information on the sleep mode for this chip.

Thanks,

  • Michael,

The 6.5uA spec is the current that would go into the IC from the battery.

Since IN is not present (below UVLO) The FET Q1 (IN to OUT) is off.  Q2 is (BAT to OUT) is on.  This allows the battery to power the load.

If there is no load (ship mode possibly) then the only drain on the battery would be the leakage into the bq24232H.  That is the sleep mode state.  If there is still a load at OUT (normal system) the current into the IC is still at the 6.5uA limit.

    Regards,

    Dick
