LM7805, LM7812, and LM7815 NDE Package Pin Out

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM340

There is an issue in the data sheet for these parts. The pin-outs do not match. If you look at page 1 of the data sheet and compare this to page 3 the pin definitions do not match. The pin function chart also does not match. Can you please verify the actual pin-out of the TO-220 package? I know this is listed already in the forums, but please verify this again so that I can give the customer the proper answer.

I am managing a project that has been bitten by this error. We will be looking expectantly to TI for a check to cover the expense of the PCB re-spin this error is causing. The NPE package drawing correctly identifies pin 1 for the TO-220 part. What is not obvious anywhere on the rev K datasheet, is that pin 2 and the TAB are GND. The datasheet has the pins incorrectly identified on both sheet 1 and sheet 3. The problem includes the part number LM340T12/NOPB, not just the '78 parts.

I apologize for this error. When we updated the content of this datasheet, the pinout images were somehow mixed up and the labeling was screwed up. We are working to get the datasheet fixed and it should be fixed very soon. I have attached the correct pinout for LM340/LM78xx devices.
