TPS68470 WLED unused case

Hi,

Regarding the case to not use WLED function, we have a item in https://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/pmu/w/design_notes/3496.tps68470-what-to-do-with-pins-for-unused-wled-boost-converter

But, we do not mentioned how should we connect ball D1 (3V3_VDD) which seems to be dedicated for WLED function.  Can we float it?  Or we still need to connect it as the original way but removing one input cap here?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hi Antony,

They will still need to route ball D1. While it is primarily for the WLED function, it is not limited to just the WLED function. To ensure that other functions (like ILEDA and ILEDB drivers) are working properly, we recommend keeping the VDD_3V3 routed to D1 and keep the 0.1 uF input cap.
