UVLO of TPS62320

Hi,

Please tell me about hysteresis of UVLO.
2.4 V is the detection voltage, but is there hysteresis?

On the behavior of detection voltage of UVLO.
As shown in the attached figure, when VIN is increased, it becomes as follows.

2.407 V: detection
2.408 V: instability
2.409 V: stable

An unstable condition occurs as behavior, but is it normal as IC operation?

Best Regards,

  • Hi,

This is not specified in the DS.
Why do you want to ramp up your input voltage so slow?

Could you share your application and power requirements?
There are much newer device available with better performance.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Michael
  • Thank you for informing me of the answer.

After confirming the performance of UVLO, unstable behaviors could be measured and confirmed.
There is no problem if this works normally. Is it normal as an operation?

Application is a portable medical device.

    Circuit Specification
    VIN: 3 V to 5.25 V
    VOUT: 2.8 V
IOUT: 20 mA to 150 mA

    Best Regards,

  • The minimum operating input voltage is 2.7V. In your test condition with 2.4Vin, the IC is in 100% mode when Vout is set to 2.5V.
Could you share a scope plot like above with ~50mV/div for the input voltage and add as well the output current?

Again, is the slow rising Vin in the scope plot same as in final application?
If yes, i would recommend you to control EN by an external signal to enable the IC first when Vin is on its nominal level.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Michael
