LM46002: PMP9379 by LM46002 Application Question

Part Number: LM46002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP9379

Hi Sir,

Currently we Interested TI Positive/Negative Power Rail reference design PMP9379 because PMP9379 uses external circuitry to ensure that the +/-15V output track each other, i.e. the output voltage above and below 0V are well controlled and accurately balanced.

Could you help us to explain external circuit operation theory? thanks.

  • Hi Wen,

This external circuitry is used to ensure that the +/-15V output track each other.
Suppose that the negative and positive voltage difference is ΔV, then the HalfVolts will be ΔV/2, then the OpAmpOut1 will be ΔV, so the feedback voltage to U1 increases and positive Vo of U1 will decrease. Similarly, the nonzero HalfVolts ΔV/2 will also trigger the feedback of U3 at the same time. And finally the positive output and negative output track each other and accurately balanced through this dynamic feedback process.

    Thanks.
  • Hi Sir,
    Thanks for your clearly explain.
If we use inverter buck to design negative output, need concern what parts can effect output limitation?
