UCC28700-Q1: Internal Over-Temperature Circuit

The Over-Temperature circuit is not described in great detail in the data sheet.

Can you describe the circuitry?

Would this circuit be sensitive to EMI type radiation?

The customer thinks that the circuit might possibly be being activated by EMI. I don’t know if this is possible, but I wanted you to weigh in on this.

Hi Richard,

I would have though it was unlikely that the over temperature protection could be tripped by radiated EMI. Is the application subjected to significant radiated EMI from an external source.

I have also copied the LPC product line on the post who may be able to comment further.

Richard,

The internal OTP is not dependent on system EMI. Could you describe the situation, max ambient temperature, and include any design schematics and input/output specs?
