BQ500511A: TROUBLES WITH FOD

HELLO

We design a board with BQ500511 and BQ50002.

In the configuration 1 ; our own Board  and a Samsung Galaxy S7 the FOD warning appear less than 30 seconds after power on.

In the configuration 2 : EVAL BOARD BQ50002AEVM-607 and a Samsung Galaxy S7 the device is powered for charging.

In the configuration 1 after a FOD warning if we try to charge another device (Which does not cause fod) the current is unstable. We need to power off the board and power on to find again a good operation.

On the eval board the BQ500511A have this marking : H58K ASZ3

On our own board the BQ500511A have this marking : H45K CHVP G4

Could you help us to understand

    Hi Laurent
    What is the FOD threshold on your EVM set to?
    Have you run FOD calibration?

    The FOD set up on your board can be checked using the bqSTUDIO software and EV2400, see EVM users guide. You would want to check the Calculated Parasitic Loss vs FOD threshold.
