Hi Team,

 

Our customer would like to know the L2 of function on TPS65235-1EVM-694.

So, why is this inductor necessary?

And, does an evil not occur even if this inductor isn’t placed?

Could you please let us know if you have any information?

    Hi,

    The C12, L2, R0 form an isolation circuit which make VLNB node and VOUT node seperated.

    When IC send tone to Vout, the Q1 will turn on, and bypass this isolation circuit;

    when the tone on Vout is sent by other IC, the Q1 is turn off, the isolation circuit will avoid tone attenuated by VLNB low impedance node.

    in short, the function of isolation circuit is passing DC and blocking AC.
