LM2700: symmetric power supply

Part Number: LM2700
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS82130, LM5160, , LM5001

Hello

I want to produce some different level voltage sources from +5VDC.

so in the first phase I need to boost up +5Vdc to +/-6Vdc.

I found that we can design such converter with LM5160 and TPS82130.

I mentioned some links in my previous post:

 e2e.ti.com/.../617554

both of them are similar to LM2700 in aspect of being Positive Voltage Converter.

I purchased some LM2700. based on TI Webench the efficiency and output ripple are very good. now How should I realize such converter using LM2700?

actually I don't know how I should design symmetric power supply with TI Webbench :|

  • How much is your power level? This determines whether or not you can use a controller with integrated FET.

To generate a negative rail, a simple approach is to employ a buck controller (high side switch) and implement a "inverting" buck-boost. If you want one controller ic to achieve both +5V and -6V, you should consider either a flyback (LM5001) or fly-buck (LM5160) and use a transformer to generate two coupled output voltages.
